Submission XVIII Rassegna 2017
The Foundation Civic Museum of Rovereto organises since 1990 the International Festival of Archaeological Film. The event takes place once a year, it is not a competition and it is open to any producer, director and film and TV author in the field of archaeological, historical, pale-ethnological, anthropological research, aimed at preserving and valuing the cultural heritage.
In the XXVIII year of the Film Festival, that will take place from the 3rd until the 7th of October, the prize "Città di Rovereto - Archeologia Viva" will be awarded by the public to the most acclaimed film. The admittance to the Festival is decided by the Direction.
For the Film Festival we would first select the most recent productions, and documentaries presenting new archaeological discoveries.
During this year’s event the biennial competition "Premio Paolo Orsi" will take place. The "Premio Paolo Orsi" will be awarded to a film with peculiar artistic and scientific qualities by an International Jury made up of leading personalities in the archaeological, cinematographical and cultural fields.The Festival Board will select the films to be admitted to the Festival, while the films to be admitted to the competition "Premio Paolo Orsi" are chosen by a Selection Committee, whose decisions are final. The Committee will not accept: a) works judged technically and artistically inadequate; b) overtly commercial works; c) works which do not match the aims of the Festival, which do not respect the rules or whose entry form is not completely filled in; d) works produced before 2014.
The "Premio Paolo Orsi" 2017 for the best film, consists of a plaque and a sum of euro 5500 to be aimed at the production of a new documentary on the themes of the Festival. The plaque and 1650 euro will be given to the director or the producer during the prize giving, while the remaining 3850 euro will be given after the presentation of the film project, complete with an estimate, at the Foundation Civic Museum of Rovereto. In its final version the documentary will have to mention the Foundation Civic Museum of Rovereto and its International Festival of Archaeological Film. Collecting the money, the producer formally undertakes to accomplish her/his project by 2 years.
For the admission and the selection, all the entry forms must be fullfilled online by the 30th April 2017 with, for the foreign ones, a copy of the text, preferably in Italian. If not possible, in English, in German or French. 1 DVD should be send by post to the Film Festival's address c/o the Foundation Civic Museum of Rovereto. We also ask to send the file of the film (the file can be sent via mail (via wetranfer or other giga-mail services) or uploaded on vimeo or other platforms to be download). In order to be admitted to the Festival 2017, the participants must fill in the entry form online. The freight is at the participant’s expense, while the return of the film is at the expense of the Foundation Civic Museum of Rovereto. The participation in the Film Festival implies understanding and agreement of the above mentioned rules. The festival Board assures its greatest care, but does not accept responsibility for any damage or delay in the return of the film.

The online procedure is to be preferred.
Just in case of unsolvable technical problem, you can send us the downloaded entry form to the following address: rassegna@fondazionemcr.it (this is the only valid address for the submission of the films).
Together with the signed form, completed in any fields, you must submit all the requested materials, that is the pictures and the film script.
